The previous 252 posts on this blog have come from a place of compassion, but over the last 10 days I have run out of compassion. So permit me one post from a grumpy old man.
I’m sick and tired of my white privilege.
And I’m sick and tired of having my nose rubbed in my white privilege.
I’m sick and tired of religious adherents who believe theirs is the only path.
And I’m sick and tired of people who think all the devoutly religious believe that theirs is the only path.
I’m sick and tired of Republicans.
And I’m sick and tired of Democrats.˜
I’m sick and tired of police brutality toward minorities.
And I’m sick and tired of people who label every white-on-black police killing as murder and racism.
I’m sick and tired of Donald Trump and his family.
And I’m sick and tired of Hillary Clinton and her family.
I’m sick and tired of the failures of the media.
And I’m sick and tired of people blaming the media for society’s failures.
I’m sick and tired of people who don’t trust others’ motives.
And I’m sick and tired of people who don’t cast a skeptical eye on anything they re-post.
I’m sick and tired of racism.
And I’m sick and tired of people who pretend that we don’t all have biases.
I’m sick and tired of environmental destruction.
And I’m sick and tired of people who think their house should be the last to be built in their neighborhood.
I’m sick and tired of wage inequality.
And I’m sick and tired of tax laws that penalize small-business women and men who follow the rules.
I’m sick and tired of too big to fail.
And I’m sick and tired of too small to succeed.
I’m sick and tired of phony science that denies global warming.
And I’m sick and tired of phony science that would thwart efforts to improve crop yields and feed more of the hungry.
I’m sick and tired of a society that fails to honor professionals who serve others.
And I’m sick and tired of liberal contempt for people who go into business.
I’m sick and tired of people who see every proposed gun regulation as a threat to the Second Amendment.
And I’m sick and tired of people who see every proposed abortion regulation as a threat to Roe v Wade.
I’m sick and tired of money’s role in politics.
And I’m equally sick and tired whether the dollars come from conservative corporations or liberal interest groups.
I’m sick and tired of global climate change.
And I’m sick and tired of people who get into their cars and drive to protests against companies with only remote connections to global climate change.
