My spiritual life takes two interconnected (aren’t they all?) paths. I’ll discuss the Buddhist one, the Unitarian Universalist one, and how they connect.
It’s widely accepted that few of us have planned adequately for the financial consequences of our lengthy old age, and I’d add that few of us are prepared emotionally and spiritually.
Although the self is impermanent and an illusion, there is a something that is mine and consistent. I’ll call it my soul….It’s the essential me that persists through change and just maybe will never be gone from the world.
…it no longer feels like games we’re playing – more like a war. We no longer recognize the humanity of the other side. We fail to see how “their” belief system can be anything other than selfish or stupid.
